American Libraries Magazine
American Libraries is the flagship magazine of the American Library Association. I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with art director Rebecca Lomax on two issues, creating custom illustrations for stories on library outreach during the 2020 election and the rise of AI in 2025. Each piece was designed to engage readers and visually capture the impact of these timely topics.
Democracy in Action
Cover illustration and interior spot illustrations for the November/December 2019 issue, covering the outreach efforts of local libraries for the 2020 election.
Ethics & Implications of AI
Librarians weigh in on the use of AI. The cover illustration was created in the uncanny style of generative AI artwork - wonky shapes, super-sampled textures, too many teeth, and words that just don’t make sense.
