1889 Magazine

1889 Magazine is Washington’s Magazine, covering all there is to experience in the beautiful state. The magazine is managed by Statehood Media. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to illustrate three covers over the last few years. The covers celebrate Winter festivities, Summer events, and camping.

As a Pacific Northwesterner, I’m absolutely honored to represent my home region with my artwork. Special thanks to art director Allison Bye for the support!

Winter Wonderland Cover

Ringing in the New Year with this fantastical illustration of the Puget Sound frozen over and people joyfully skating around with Mt Rainier and the Seattle cityscape in the background.

Summer Glamping

This issue is all about spending summer outdoors in style with the best “glamp” spots in Washington. Marshmallows roast over a campfire, and a yurt is illuminated with string lights. In the background, the stars are starting to show against a setting sun.

Summer Festivals

There are so many fun festivals to attend in the summer. This issue covers all of them in the Washington area. For this cover, I drew an outdoor music festival with a lively crowd and a row of food vendors.
