Here's an illustration I created a few month's ago. It's part of a larger series of illustrations I'm working on for a promotional recipe book. This is my mom's classic tomato orange soup with a grilled panini with basil. Yum!
I liked the way this image turned out. The colors, the composition and the play between loose lines and rigid digital shapes. Below are the drawing components I used to create this illustration.
This image is busy with texture and it feels like there's a lot going on. I managed to keep it simple. Big shapes for the background, napkin, plate, bowl, and oranges made the composition. The rest of my process in completed this image was applying clipping masks and overlaying textures to create definition and details.
